After completing a PhD investigating the interactions between the gas and electricity transmission networks in 2010, James has worked on several roles focussed on gas and electricity network development. Since 2015 his focus has been on electricity system operation and in his current role at National Energy System Operator (NESO) he is responsible for leading on Demand Connections Reform. James’ team works closely with Ofgem, Government and industry on the next steps required to enable viable electricity demand connections to progress whilst considering progress towards a clean power system and maintaining a secure system at lowest cost to consumers.
