Paul is the Head of Strategic Network Development at the National Energy System Operator (NESO). He is responsible for the future strategic development of the GB Transmission System, making critical recommendations on necessary network investments, including the timing and locations, to ensure the transmission system supports the transition to Clean Power by 2030, and the longer term Net Zero target for the GB economy. This must be achieved while maintaining security and affordability.

Paul's team is at the forefront of planning the Centralised Strategic Network Plan, which as part of NESO Strategic Planning function, aims to transform the network development processes. This initiative ensures that the development of the transmission network is not only aligned with the future needs but also integrated with the entire energy system of tomorrow.
