Paul is an MBA qualified Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 25 years experience as a senior leader, and heads the asset management directorate in Electricity North West. He is the Designated Engineer and is the responsible officer for company health and safety.
He has extensive experience in electricity distribution where he started in 1988 as a graduate electrical engineering trainee at Manweb in Chester before moving to UKPN and then onto United Utilities Electricity. In his earlier career Paul was a light current engineer responsible for the commissioning of EHV plant and equipment onto the power distribution network. He was a senior authorised person up to 132KV. His experience in the delivery and management of programmes of electricity infrastructure construction projects was gained at Carillion, Balfour Beatty and latterly Wood Group where he spent 4 years as UK operations director for its Power Solutions business.
He joined Electricity North West in 2023 and in addition to his asset management and capital programme delivery responsibilities, Paul chairs the companies health, safety and environment committee.
