Anna is a water industry professional with over 25 years’ wastewater experience. She has worked within operational, regulatory, project management and asset management environments with an extensive focus on environmental protection.
Anna started her career as an admin assistant for Dwr Cymru and after undertaking various operational and asset management roles, moved to Thames Water in 2014. She has been responsible for waste water pumping in Thames Valley then the wastewater in network in South London serving 4.5million customers and 50,000km of sewer network. In 2020, Anna took on the role of heading up the Performance, Risk and Optimisation (PRO) team for Thames Water, delivering the AMP 7 plan around our wastewater network and pumping performance commitments as well as implementing the innovative i3 tool that is the predictive cornerstone of what work we prioritise and what interventions are required.
Most recently, from September 2022, the Mogden Catchment is the focus for Anna. She is responsible for the waste water network, pumping, treatment in the catchment and, importantly, implementing the smart waste technology that has been developed over the last few years. In a pioneering catchment management approach, this is a fantastic opportunity to shape the catchment to fully utilise the technical skill sets of our teams so they can be utilised in the best way, blending our people, our data and our technology to deliver for our communities and the environment.
Anna loves nothing more than getting out on site and delivering solution to our flooding and pollution challenges and enhancing our environment. People management and developing colleagues is a particular passion and mentoring is something that Anna considers part of her role in bringing through the next generation of water industry heroes!
Outside of work, Anna enjoys raising money for Duchenne UK by running despite not being built for that particular activity! She is also a home and away season ticket holder at Arsenal FC and a (not very good) guitar player.
