Speaker Biography
Dr Marcus Rink has been Chief Inspector of Drinking Water since August 2015. He has worked within the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) for nearly 25 years, holding a range of senior regulatory roles.
As Chief Inspector, Dr Rink provides independent regulatory scrutiny of the water industry, with responsibility for assuring the supply of safe, clean and wholesome drinking water to consumers. His role spans a broad portfolio of statutory and non statutory functions, including discharging duties on behalf of the Secretary of State for England and the Welsh Government.
Dr Rink is a Fellow of the Institute of Water and holds a professional doctorate in regulation.
