Dr Edo Boek
reader (associate professor) in chemical engineering
Queen Mary University of London
Dr Edo Boek has 15 years of industrial research experience (SLB Cambridge Research) and 15 years of academic research and teaching experience (Imperial College London, Queen Mary University of London). His expertise is focused on the purification of water resources, including remediation of emerging contaminants - PFAS in particular. His current research interests include up-concentration of PFAS using advanced foam fractionation (FF), followed by destruction of PFAS in the foamate, using Super-Critical Water Oxidation (SCWO). Our research group, in collaboration with Waternet, has been successful in winning one of the prizes for purifying lunar ice in the Aqualunar Challenge, see https://aqualunarchallenge.org.uk/. Following this success, we are actively looking for industrial collaboration in the UK water industry to advance our combined FF / SCWO technology for removal and destruction of PFAS in terrestrial water resources
